Your Italian Travel Guide present at BIT Milano 2026

Next week I will be in Milan for BIT Milano, one of Italy’s most important tourism fairs. Not to quickly exchange business cards, but to listen, deepen and connect. As an Italy expert and founder of Your Italian Travel Guide, I move daily between inspiration for travelers and collaboration with Italian partners. For me, BIT Milano is the place where those two worlds come together. In this article, you can read why I am intentionally attending, what I hope to take away and how this fits into my vision for the future of travel and tourism in Italy.

General information about BIT Milano

BIT Milano stands for Borsa Internazionale del Turismo and is the international trade fair for tourism in Italy. Every year destinations, regions, accommodations, DMCs, tourism agencies and other professionals gather here. Focused entirely on the B2B market, the fair is all about knowledge sharing, networking and shaping the future of travel.

What sets BIT Milano apart from other trade shows is its focus on vision. It’s not just about numbers or growth, but rather quality, positioning and collaboration within a rapidly changing travel world.

The exhibition venue in Milan

BIT Milano takes place in Fiera Milano, a modern and international exhibition complex just outside the center of Milan. This venue is large enough for international meetings, but personal enough for substantive conversations. Milan feels like a logical place for me to look ahead because it is a city where economy, creativity and international cooperation come together.

Why I am attending BIT Milano

My presence at BIT Milano is a conscious step within the further development of Your Italian Travel Guide. Where I help travelers experience Italy like a local, behind the scenes I work more and more intensively with Italian parties. Regions, tourism organizations and small-scale accommodations that stand for quality and authenticity.

At BIT Milano, I am not looking for quick collaborations, but rather hope to have meaningful conversations. About vision, about expectations and about how together we can contribute to a form of tourism that is right. By being here, I emphatically position myself as an Italy expert within the travel industry. Someone who speaks the language, understands the culture and bridges the gap between Italy and the Dutch market.

The future of travel and tourism in Italy

Italy remains unprecedentedly popular. This is precisely why the conversation about the future is so important. How do we ensure that destinations retain their character? How do we better spread tourism across regions and seasons? And how do we create travel experiences that add value for both the traveler and the local community?

During BIT Milano, themes such as slow travel, sustainability, digitalization and storytelling will take center stage. Travelers are looking less for highlights and more for meaning. Less for mass, more for humanity. At the fair, I expect valuable conversations about lesser-known regions, new forms of hospitality and collaborations that go beyond marketing alone.

What BIT Milano means to Your Italian Travel Guide

Everything I take away from BIT Milano translates directly to my work. To better choices in collaborations, to more depth in content and to travel guides that are even better suited to the needs of conscious Italy travelers. I see my role more and more clearly as that of connector. Between traveler and destination. Between Italy and the Netherlands. Between inspiration and reality.

BIT Milano 2026 feels to me like a logical moment of deepening. Not bigger, but sharper. Not more, but better. Exactly what I believe the future of travel in Italy looks like.
