Would you like to wake up with a view of Mount Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples, in the middle of nature and yet close to Sorrento? Welcome to Village Camping Santa Fortunata. One of the most beautiful places to stay in Sorrento, if you love nature, freedom and spectacular views.
On the outskirts of Sorrento, overlooking the azure sea and iconic Vesuvius, lies Village Camping Santa Fortunata: a special place that is much more than a campsite. Here you will stay amidst greenery, right by the sea, in a quiet area away from the crowds, yet perfectly located to discover the Amalfi Coast.
With a panoramic swimming pool, cozy bungalows, a private beach and a restaurant where you can taste genuine Neapolitan cuisine, this accommodation combines the best of nature, comfort and location. The breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples and its ideal location near Sorrento, Capri and the Amalfi Coast make this a perfect base for your trip through southern Italy.
At Village Camping Santa Fortunata you have a surprisingly wide choice of accommodation, so there is something suitable for every type of traveler. Whether you are traveling with a tent, camper or caravan and opt for a spacious camping pitch surrounded by greenery, or prefer a little more comfort in a glamping tent, bungalow, mobile home or even an apartment; the options are many.
What makes this place extra special is that many accommodations offer stunning sea views. And believe me, that view here is really why you choose this place: waking up with a view of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius in the background immediately gives your stay that ultimate Italy feeling. My tip: if at all possible, always choose a place with a sea view; it will really make your experience here complete!

Access: easily accessible by car or train. From Napoli Centrale there is a little train with Sorrento as its terminus. From here you can take the (shuttle) bus to Santa Fortunata or the regional SITA bus. The stop is in front of the campsite.
The swimming pool is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the campsite and offers a wonderful view of the sea, making it the perfect place to unwind. In addition, you can descend through a path to a rocky beach, where you can go directly into the clear water, a place that gives that real “hidden gem” feeling you often miss on the Amalfi Coast. Good to know is that the swimming pool is open seasonally and that the beach can be reached via a somewhat steeper path, which just adds to the adventurous nature of this special location.
On the campsite you will find a restaurant and pizzeria where you can enjoy simple, typical Italian dishes, such as pizza from the wood-fired oven, tasty pasta and a good glass of local wine at sunset. Don’t expect fine dining here, but rather a casual, authentic atmosphere that’s perfect after you’ve done a lot of impressions in the region. Lovely to end your day here.
The location is undoubtedly one of the biggest pluses of Village Camping Santa Fortunata. From here you are in no time in the center of Sorrento, full of pleasant streets, terraces and limoncello stores, and you can easily discover the highlights of the region, such as Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast with places like Positano and Amalfi, and the island of Capri that you can easily reach by boat. The impressive excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum are also within easy reach. This makes it an ideal base if you want to combine several places during your trip.
What makes your stay extra pleasant is the hospitality of the staff: they are incredibly friendly and happy to help you get everything out of your vacation. For example, you can easily rent a scooter at the reception to explore the area or book excursions to Naples, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Capri, among others; ideal if you want to get out and about without the hassle. If you want to add a unique local experience to your trip, a visit to Villa Massa’s lemon grove is also recommended
From the campground you can walk onto the natural peninsula of Punta del Capo, where you can follow a beautiful route to the Roman ruins of Villa Pollio, and nearby is also the Bagni della Regina Giovanna, a beautiful natural swimming spot hidden among the rocks. In the area you will also find several hiking trails with sea views, such as the Sentiero Baia di Ieranto, which is definitely worthwhile.
To give you the fairest possible picture of Village Camping Santa Fortunata, it is good to also include a few practical points in your consideration. For example, the terrain is quite hilly, which makes for those beautiful views, but can be a little less ideal if you have mobility problems. In addition, some accommodations are a bit more compact and the sanitary facilities are neat, but more basic than luxurious. Moreover, in high season it can get a bit busier. That said: the very combination of the unique location, the views and the value for money still makes this one of the most attractive places to stay in the region around Sorrento.
